While it’s a tale that will send shivers down your spine, it is also a tale of friendship and redemption. In this beautifully told ghost story, Mary Downing Hahn masterfully combines a gripping and evocative mystery with a tender portrayal of a young girl trying to adapt to the kind of life of which she’s always dreamed. Florence’s imaginings of a happy home life are shattered as the ghost of her 12-year-old cousin, Sophia, seeks to recreate the scene of her death, causing someone else to die in her place so that she will be restored to life. However, all is not what it seems at Crutchfield Hall. When 12-year-old Florence boards the horse-drawn coach in London that will take her from the orphanage where she’s spent the past seven years to the home of her newly discovered uncle at Crutchfield Hall, she is filled with hope and excitement.

I really like that this book is written in the first-person perspective of Ivy and the way Ivy tries to make sense of human behaviour is quite comical. Sarah does not want Ivy to be destroyed and will do everything in her power to save her, but as her parents are set against Ivy staying in their house a minute longer it doesn’t look good for Ivy! Sarah really wanted a dog for birthday but instead her parents buy her Ivy… Sarah is not impressed at first and will not accept Ivy! But, just as Sarah and Ivy do become friends all Troofriend 560 Mark IV androids are recalled to the factory as there are rumours that they start do develop human feelings and can be a danger to children. Ivy is a ‘Jenson & Jenson Troofriend 560 Mark IV’ android who is supposed to be the perfect friend. imagine having a real artificial android who was your Troofriend, does not bully, does not harm, does not lie and has no envy? May I introduce Ivy. She was an amazing friend and do you know why? Because she always agreed with me – I was always right and she would never argue back and I could trust her with anything…. Did you ever have an imaginary friend when you were a child? I certainly did! As an only child I constantly had Sophie by my side, always asking her questions. Sharing a personal perspective on the past three decades of world history, Leap of Faith highlights Queen Noor's views on Islam and the West the challenges of rearing her family her work as Queen and humanitarian activist and her struggles to protect her husband as he slipped into the illness that would kill him in 1999. With eloquence and candour, Noor talks frankly of the many challenges of her life as wife and partner to the monarch, providing both an intimate portrait of the late King Hussein and his quest for peace in the Middle East, and a moving account of the demands his public role as a world statesman placed on the royal couple's private life. In less than two years, she was his wife, Noor al-Hussein, Queen of Jordan. Then, in 1976, she was introduced, on an airport runway, to King Hussein of Jordan, a direct descendent of the prophet Muhammed. Born into a distinguished Arab-American family and raised amid privilege, Lisa Halaby was in the first co-educational freshman class at Princeton, graduating in 1974 with a degree in architecture and urban planning.
